- Diagnostic Centre to be opened for new school year

Eight persons graduated today from a three-month training programme which equipped them with the requisite skills to work at the Centre to Stimulate the Development of Children, Adolescents and Youth with Special Education Needs Associated with Disabilities in the compound of the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE).

UG hosts Consultation on Writing

Today, the Minister of Education, Hon. Nicolette Henry along with officers within the Ministry of Education participated in a ‘Consultation on Writing’ held at the University of Guyana. 

The engagement was organised by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ivelaw Griffith, to address what has been described as a serious deficiency in the writing skills of many persons in the workplace, whether it be graduates or non-graduates.

news 20180522 4A phased revision of public schools curricula will be among the key tactics employed to realize improved performances of students within the education system.

This deliberate move will be implemented through the Guyana Education Sector Improvement Project (GESIP) which is being executed by the Ministry of Education. The project, which is receiving funding from the World Bank to the tune of US$6 million, is designed to target students at the nursery, primary and lower secondary levels.
