The initiative seeks to address violence and indiscipline in schools which continues to be a major concern.
Attending the meeting were representatives of the Government Ministries, CARICOM, PAHO/WHO, UNESCO, the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Teachers Union.
During the discussions, meaningful contributions were made on the way forward so that the right strategies can be developed to implement the initiative which will work towards the reduction and prevention of violence in the school system.
Minister of Education, Dr. the Hon. Nicolette Henry said that the initiative will be successful with the necessary support of all the stakeholders.
She thanked them for their willingness to be a part of this transformative process which seeks to provide safer schools across Guyana.
