New Amsterdam Primary gets new IT lab

Today, the Minister of Education Dr. the Hon. Nicolette Henry commissioned an Information Technology (IT) laboratory at New Amsterdam Primary School in Berbice. The school was gifted twelve desktop computers and accompanying accessories from the MoE to aid its IT programme.

During her brief remarks the Education Minister told the children that in this 21st century it is important that they are computer literate and that this is the first step towards realizing that.

Additionally, Dr Henry said that she is looking forward for academic improvements from the school and wants the computers to be adequately utilized for the benefit of the school population. The twelve computers and accessories are valued at over $1.6M.
