Four Government Technical Institute (GTI) students will now be better equipped to pursue their desired fields of study thanks to scholarship bursaries presented by the Gafoor 20170316 1

The assistance will cause the four youngsters to attend the 2016/2017 academic year and provide for their education materials, transportation fees, training materials not provided by the institute, meals, among other things.
The presentation was made in the GTI boardroom last week.

The Sophia Training Centre (STC) is working to equip students with Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) certification that will improve their 20170228 6

Administrator Cardis Dick said, the institute’s move towards granting this certification will enable the students to gain employment anywhere in the Caribbean.

Dick explained to the Government Information Agency (GINA), that currently the centre operates as a technical institute and is moving towards offering Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) certification for the students to have at least a CVQ level one.

This Open Day event is one of many to be held at other national technical institutions throughout Guyana, as the Ministry of Education (MOE) intensifies efforts to create better awareness and significantly raise the profile of TVET in Guyana.
