After being invited as special guests and honoured by the Ministry of Natural Resources for their academic achievements at the pilot “Oil and Gas Lecture” held last week, four students along with one other who successfully completed the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams, met with Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman, to discuss their plans for the future.

... pass rate declines, but performances still laudable

With five passes at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), 17-year-old Melieka Crawford of East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, is elated that she can now pursue studies in International Relations at the University of Guyana.news 20160822

Although as a child she dreamt of becoming a lawyer, her visual impairment caused her to review her dream career. She now hopes to one day become an Ambassador.

In order to stop school dropouts and promote education a La Penitence Academic Awards ceremony 2016 was hosted for the first time by Influential Millennial in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister (PM) and Essential Care Agency.The event was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo and his wife, Mrs. Sita Nagamootoo. It was held at 175 Middle Road La Penitence.
