120 Lindeners enlist as volunteers for 50th anniversary celebrations

The GUY50 – National Commemorative Commission (NCC) with support from the Volunteer Support Platform (VSP) held another Volunteer Drive, this time in Linden Region 10 where over 120 persons were registered. The activity is a build-up from the first drive which was held on October 10. Since then there has been an influx of persons expressing their interest in volunteering for Guyana’s Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2016, a release from the Education Ministry said.

On Thursday another drive will be held in Region 6 at the Vryman Erven Training Centre. Registration will commence at 10:00 am. Persons interested in volunteering can register for the following categories: academia, ceremonial, commemorative, entertainment, infrastructure, youth, diaspora, and heritage and indigenous culture.
The volunteer drive is a continuous one, as such citizens can uplift and submit forms at the Ministry of Education, Department of Culture, Youth and Sport on Main Street.
