Students of the Guyana Karate College paid courtesy call on Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine. Some of the students are heading to the 2015 Karate World Cup in Toronto, Canada on July 15-19.

The Guyana Karate College (GKC) and the International Karate Daigaku (IKD) recently met with the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine to solicit the ministry’s support.
On Friday, June 26, 2015 representatives from the GKC and the IKD paid courtesy call on Dr. Roopnaraine at which they used the opportunity to request support and recognition for the Karate discipline in Guyana. At the recent meeting the GKC articulated their wish to see the integration of karate into the CXC curriculum as well as the possibility of establishing the IKD programme at the University of Guyana. Among the other matters talked about was the completion of the college building.
