Guyana – a leading Sagicor visionary

At today’s launch of Education Month 2015 at the Theater Guild, Marlene Chin from Sagicor Visionaries officially announced to the Guyanese public that Abram Zuil Secondary School in Region 2, had won the 2014 leg of the Sagicor Visionaries competition.
Having won the national competition with their project Paddy Husk Particle Board, the students and teachers moved on to the regional competition which was held in Florida, United States of America. This team included Athine Indar, Safeer Juma, Mark Doobay, Devindra Persaud and Biron Marks. They were joined by their teachers Jerome Rajpersaud (Deputy Head Teacher), Bagwandae Suklall (Head of the Science Department).

Ministry of Education and Council for Technical Vocational Education and Training in collaboration with the  CARICOM Education for Employment (C-EFE) and (CTVET) hosted a forum for Industry Leaders and Educators to examine Guyana Industry Linkages with specific focus on “Workforce Development: The Critical Importance of TVET in Secondary Schools”.
