Call for Proposals - International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) and the first edition of “U40 Empowered”: a UNESCO – Sabrina Ho Initiative.

The Guyana National Commission for UNESCO is making a Call for Proposals under its International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) and the first edition of “U40 Empowered”: a UNESCO – Sabrina Ho Initiative.

In addition, the Secretariat is launching “U40 Empowered”: a UNESCO – Sabrina Ho Initiative that expands on the work of the IFCD and specifically invites national and international NGO to submit project proposals aiming to support women entrepreneurs powering the digital and creative industries.

Projects supported by the IFCD cover a wide range of activities – from capacity-building and cultural mapping to policy analysis and development, as well as entrepreneurship support and cultural industries consolidation.

IFCD projects demonstrate the value and opportunities that the cultural industries bring to sustainable development processes, in particular to economic growth and the promotion of a decent quality of life.

The main objective of the IFCD is to invest in projects that lead to structural change through the introduction and/or elaboration of policies and strategies that have a direct effect on the creation, production, distribution of and access to a diversity of cultural expressions, including cultural goods, services and activities, as well as through the reinforcement of institutional infrastructures deemed necessary to support viable cultural industries at the local and regional levels.

The Call for Proposals is opened to Organizations and NGOs.

Please note that all applicants will have to directly submit their funding requests through the IFCD online Application Platform. You may consult the IFCD website for information on the IFCD and ‘U40 Empowered’ application and selection procedure.

All applications (Up to US$100,000) developed by public authority/institution (Government Agencies) or NGOs are to be submitted on-line by 16 April, 2018. There will be a pre-selection process by the National Commissions for UNESCO by 15 May 2018. The results will be known in December 2018.
