$1 billion for youth development in budget 2019

The establishment of Regional Youth Councils across the country, along with the formulation of a National Youth Counseling Programme, a Youth Entrepreneurial Framework, and Youth Apprenticeship Programme, are just a few of the ways in which the government has catered for the development of young people in the 2019 budget.

The more than 400 young people from across Guyana that will be participating in the inaugural National Youth Conference have been encouraged to tackle issues affecting them in a frank manner. This was the charge by Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton who was addressing the young people at a reception held for them at the Baridi Benab, State House.
