The Government of Guyana through the Ministry of Education will commence the handing over of the “Because We Care” cash grant and the School Uniform and Supplies Grant to children in the public school system on July 15, 2021.
MINISTER of Education, Priya Manickchand, said that the distribution of the $25,000 “Because We Care” cash grant and $5,000 uniform voucher will begin across the country on August 2.
Dr. Petal Punalall-Jetoo is the National Science Coordinator and heads the Science Unit within the Ministry of Education NCERD, Guyana. She is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring programmes that improve Secondary School science education. She introduced the Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) pilot project for Primary Schools in collaboration with the Caribbean Academy of Sciences (CAS) and UNESCO.
The Ministries of Education and Public Health are collaborating to offer Early Stimulation Intervention for individuals and their families affected by Microcephaly.
