    -        Yarrowkabra Secondary School is ahead of schedule with 65% of work completed

    (October 10, 2022) – With the construction of new secondary schools across Guyana, the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand said that Universal Secondary Education will be a reality by 2025.

  • $566.9M contract signed for reconstruction of North Ruimveldt Secondary School

    (August 24, 2022) – On June 19, 2021, the North Ruimveldt Secondary School was destroyed by fire. On that day, the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand said that the school will be rebuilt. Today, a contract with a project sum of $566.9M was signed for the reconstruction of the school.

    (May 14, 2022) – The Ketley Primary School in Georgetown retained the title of Literacy Bee Champions today at the National Cultural Centre following their win back in 2020 at the first edition of the competition.

    The Three Miles Secondary School in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni); the New Amsterdam Secondary School in Region Six

  • $28.4 M new wing for St Therese primary school

    The St. Therese Primary School in New Amsterdam, Region Six is expected to get a new wing at a cost of some $28.4 million which will allow more students to be accommodated at the institution.

  • $2B budgeted for national school feeding programme

    ─ over 85,000 nursery, primary students to benefit

  • $3.2B in school children grants not limited to uniforms, school items – Education Minister

    Minister of Education, Hon. Priya Manickchand says parents/ guardians will not be limited to purchasing school items with the Government’s $3.2B Because We Care and school items cash grants.
