The education sector budget has an allocation of over $500 million earmarked for the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) to go fully online with its teachers’ training programme.

Following discussions between the Minister of Education Priya Manickchand and the parents of the now displaced students of the Christ Church Secondary School that was destroyed by fire last week, it was decided that the students will be placed at the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) at Turkeyen, Georgetown.

Closer monitoring and evaluation of CPCE programmes offered in far-flung areas

The Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) has a number of Distance Education Centres through which it offers programmes to students that live in far-flung and hinterland communities. In 2018, the institution will be working to ensure that there is closer monitoring and evaluation of programmes offered in those areas.
