UG receives radio licence after 27 years

The University of Guyana marked a historic moment on Wednesday when Minister of Telecommunications, Catherine Hughes; and Chairman of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA), Leslie Sobers, joined Vice Chancellor, Professor Ivelaw Griffith, and Deputy VC, Dr. Paloma Mohamed-Martin in announcing the re-issuance of the University’s radio station licence.
Around 10:00hrs today students of the St Paul’s Primary School located at Plaisance on the East Coast of Demerara in the care of two teachers were practicing for their annual inter-house sports at the Plaisance community center ground.
As part of the Ministry of Education’s efforts towards improving the education system and the delivery of education in Guyana, on Wednesday Primary School headteachers in the Georgetown District participated in a statutory meeting geared towards improving their administrative capacity.
