Students occupying the dormitories of the St. Ignatius Secondary School have been benefiting from a Youth Development project being executed through collaborative efforts by various stakeholders. The two dorms which accommodate over 200 students are on the road to marked improvements with stakeholders the likes of Guidance & Counselling Officer Mr. Kevin Reddy.

He is presently in the region on a UNICEF & Ministry of Education Project for a second stint with a focus on Youth Development and empowerment through positive engagement.
Recently several clubs were launch as part of the all-girls and all-boys day activities. These include Health, Sport, Girls (Echoes of Encouragement), Drama and Reading Clubs.

On a regular basis, the male students benefit from an all-boys Day Camp where most recently motivational speakers from Region 9 Mr. Brian Allicock Regional Chairman spoke to them about the importance of setting goals and studying. Educator and radio personality Mr. Shammah Noel engaged the students in Health and Fitness while Member of Parliament, Mr. Alister Charlie spoke to them about self-confidence and building self-esteem.

The all-boys Day Camp started off with an Inter-Dormitory Boys Football Competition and an Art Competition. The 'all-girls day' activity included Motivational Speakers Chivon Bovell Success-District Education Officer as well as the newly crowned Miss Lethem, 2017 Aaliyah Anthony, Ms. Gabrilla Swindle a Peace Corps volunteer, Head Teacher St. Ignatius Secondary School Ms. Yvette Archer and a representative of the Toshao’s Office Ms. Josie.
